City of Edmonton

Roofing Company in Edmonton

Roof replacement, roof repair, storm damage work, commercial roofing and eavestrough across the city.

Edmonton is where most of our work happens, and the city is really three different roofing problems in one. The mature core — Glenora, Highlands, Ritchie, Bonnie Doon — is full of steep post-war roofs on narrow lots with old fascia and, often, more than one layer of shingles. The 1970s and 1980s suburbs sit somewhere in the middle of their second covering. The newer edges, from Windermere to Laurel, are wide, exposed and taking the full force of the wind.

What ties all of it together is the weather. Long deep winters, hard spring thaws, hail through July and August, and a swing of more than sixty degrees between January and summer. Shingles here are asked to expand, contract, hold a snow load and then take a hailstorm, all in the same year. That is why we spend as much time on flashing, ventilation and eavestrough as we do on the shingles themselves.

We work across the whole city, we do not charge for the estimate, and the price you get is written down before anything starts.

Local conditions we plan around

  • Sixty-degree swing

Deep winters and hot summers move every seam, seal and fastener on the roof.

  • Hail season

Summer storms mean documentation and insurance work is a normal part of roofing here.

  • Three housing eras

Post-war core, 1980s suburbs and exposed new subdivisions, each with different failure points.

Roofing

Roofing in Edmonton

Most Edmonton roofs are asphalt shingle, and most of them fail in the same places: the valleys, the flashing at chimneys and skylights, and the first metre above the eave where ice builds. We start there before we ever talk about a full replacement, because a lot of roofs that look finished from the street are one flashing detail away from being fine.

When a roof genuinely is done, we tear off to the deck. That is the only way to see soft sheathing, old repairs and whether the attic was ever vented properly. Going over top of an existing layer is cheaper on the day and more expensive the next time around, and in this climate it traps the heat that causes ice damming.

Hail is the other Edmonton reality. If your roof has been hit, we document it properly so an adjuster can read it, and we will tell you honestly whether there is a claim worth making.

  • Full tear-off roof replacement with written, itemized pricing
  • Leak tracing and flashing repair at chimneys, skylights and stacks
  • Asphalt shingle, standing seam metal and flat roof systems
  • Hail and wind damage documented for insurance claims
  • Emergency tarping when water is coming in
  • Attic ventilation and ice dam correction
  • Commercial flat roofs scheduled around business hours

Gutters & eavestrough

Eavestrough & gutters in Edmonton

Eavestrough matters more here than people expect. Water that overflows in October is water that freezes at the foundation in November, and the older parts of the city have fascia that has already been repaired once behind the trough that is hanging on it.

On newer homes the usual issue is capacity, not damage. Big roof planes drain into too few downspouts, so one corner overflows every heavy rain. That is a 6 inch run or an extra outlet, not a bigger downspout in the same place.

  • Seamless 5 inch and 6 inch eavestrough formed on site
  • Gutter repair, re-sloping and re-hanging on sagging runs
  • Gutter cleaning with every downspout flushed and photographed
  • Micro-mesh gutter guards for treed inner-city lots
  • Downspout extensions that move water away from the foundation
  • Soffit and fascia repair where overflow has caused damage
